Well its pretty much inevitable... Mom really needs IVs because she doesnt drink or eat enough and she still is really sick. She said numerous times today how bad she feels but its hard to talk to her and get her to agree on going back for hydration because it would mean hospital admittance and more than likely they wouldnt let her leave as easily the next time. That is unless she walks out against medical advice like she was starting to last time. I dont know if its because she doesnt always seem very cognitive or the infection or dehydration but she acts strangely sometimes and gets a LOT of things confused. She also seems very restless. She is in bed most of the day but then she comes down the hall and sits in a chair for 5-10 minutes max and then will move to the couch and/or move to the second chair. I dont quite understand if she is uncomfortable sitting or just restless but then after scooting from place to place she will end up back in bed.
Whats kind of frustrating about the whole situation is that I think she thinks she will not recover from this round of chemo (and thus thinks she is dying) but honestly its not cancer killing her or seriously hurting her right now, instead its mainly dehydration and lack of nutrition which could easily set her back or put her down a path if its not addressed which can really ony be done with IVs at this point. Dad tried to get them approved from her cancer doctor but apparently he does not do home health care stuff or IV hydration like that which seems very strange.
